  19. too long ago (I since retired the 386) with no problem at all.  Do be
  20. sure that the 486 has a 16550 uart.  You can determine this relatively
  21. easily if you have MS-DOS on the machine.  Go to dos and run msd.exe.
  22. Hit 'C' to take a look at what type(s) of uart's your machine has.
